The Great Indian Tech Blog
Indian Adsense publishers will no longer be able to get their cheques delivered by secured delivery or normal postal delivery. In an anticipated move, Google India has announced that all adsense India cheques shall be sent by a local courier i.e. Bluedart. Bluedart already handle the local Indian operations of DHL which is partly owned by German Post.
In a statement on their website in the help forum section, google said that Indian publishers will all get their payments by bluedart as long as their areas are serviced by bluedart. Otherwise they will get their cheques via registered Indian post. Probably this is due to the large number of stolen cheques by the Indian Postal department and the cost undertaken by Google to reissue them that they have decided to switch over to local courier.
Indian adsense publishers have also been demanding access to NEFT payments or Western Union to simplify the whole scheme of things. But apparently Google has run into regulation hurdles on that and isnt considering that as an option for Indian publishers yet.
So anyway, no more yellow DHL vans to deliver your adsense India cheques. Just hope they introduce wire transfers/online electronic funds transfers (EFTs/NEFTs) next.

05|May|2009The best thing here is that we don’t have to pay extra 25$ for express delivery .
